Easy Installation
What you get when you install the software is a standard Notes design template (.NTF). All you must do is create a new database on the server using this template!
There is only one database to the application! This makes for easy installation and maintenance. Only one ACL to set, only one database to replicate. Easy!
Note: If you are evaluating other Notes-based help desk applications, you may find that they are made up of multiple databases. This is a sign that the application was built with pre-R5 technology, in which Domino databases were limited in size and suffered in performance when they grew to a certain size. The result of this old architecture, however, is a more difficult installation that is often plagued with broken links between databases. Moreover the multiple database architecture disallows users to interact with a coherent body of information that you find in our Self-Help Desk application.
Although one instance of the Self-Help Desk application may work for all of your supported products, you can also create a separate instance of the database for each product or service line (yes, this application also can support other things besides software).
Easy Configuration
A comprehensive Application Setting page lets you determine which features you want users to see and to set the application defaults.

Application Settings open when you first create the instance of the database, so you don't have to search for the initial settings.

Don't want to include all of the features? You can turn them on or off on the Features tab:

Easy User Configuration
Then base Self-Help Desk software is a standard Notes/Domino Application, so it will run from the Domino Server without installing software on the Notes Client. You will need Notes 6.5+.
One application feature above is to show the Setup Page (and action button) when the user opens the application.

At the User Setup page, users can also:
- create a Favorites (personal) Folder
- create a Bookmark to Self-Help Desk
- click the Don't show Setup page when you open this application button to bypass the setup every time. Users can still click the Setup action button from the Home Page if you have enabled that feature in the Application Settings.
Ultimate Flexibility
